Transport Debriefer – East Rand

Key Functions:

Debriefing of all drivers as per the Standard Operating Procedures in order to ensure that every vehicle was optimally utilized, return safely back to the depot, drivers adhered to the planned routes, stops and kilometers and achieve the fuel consumption per vehicles category. All variances must be identified and highlighted to management as per the escalation process disclosed per department.

Responsibilities:

Ensure all drivers are being De-briefed according to their load plan vs. Trip sheet vs. Fleet vision vs. Actual C-track Movement Report and highlight any deviations identified
 Identify unscheduled stops and off route encounters
 Ensure that no drivers are passing time idling and keep a record of any overtime worked as well as to all reasons applicable for overtime work.
 Ensure all Trip sheets are correctly completed with full names & ID numbers and all relevant information is completed fully and correctly on the tripsheet for debriefing and wage proses purposes
 Debrief drivers Fuel Consumption and discuss in detail with the drivers as to why a high or low consumption was achieved for the day.
 Ensure there was no time wasted by the driver and crew before dispatched and arrival back to the Hub
 Complete trip debriefing documentation accurately and in full
 Report all debriefing discrepancies and vehicle issues identified to management

 Record and report any speeding, harsh braking and over revving of vehicles identified as per the tracking reports
 Fleet Vision updated and maintained daily
 Compare vehicles married to drivers against actual
 Compile full debrief documentation pack
 Ensure trip sheet, gate entrance and fuel slips are attached to manifest for capturing
 Timeously tracking all the vehicles which are still out on delivery,
 Checking the entire fleet on arrival from delivery and report defects as well as to do a complete detailed In Inspection and to sign this off together with each driver
 Exceptions to be escalated to management via e-mail
 Ensure the entire fleet standing in the yard is locked and the keys are locked in the key safe.
 Enforce discipline on the drivers.
 Ensure that in the case of Accident or Breakdown – proper procedure is followed – Accident & Insurance Forms completed and ensure information is escalated to Supervisor/Hub Manager/Branch Manager immediately
 Assist in relevant operations/operational functions as required
 Maintain housekeeping standards daily

Knowledge:

 Solid knowledge of a project management methodology (PMBOK or Prince 2)
 Solid Knowledge of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

Remuneration Package:
  • R1.4mil per annum CTC (includes benefits)
