Eaton manufactures 3-phase UPS devices and battery energy storage solutions for the EMEA market at our facility in Espoo. In addition to traditional UPSs we develop energy storage and hybrid UPS solutions. The future trend for UPSs is to be a part of the grid and support usage of renewable energy.
What you’ll do:
We are looking for an experienced engineer to join our R&D organization as a Senior Power Electronics Engineer. This role will be responsible for designing, testing and documenting systems for UPS and energy storage applications. This includes power electronics design, electrical design and control electronics design.
Your key deliverables:
- Develop UPS and energy storage converter products as a part of a global product development team
- Test and make test plans for power converter systems and subsystems
- Ensure that designed products meet safety standard requirements
- Support sales, marketing, manufacturing and technical support in solving customer needs and issues
- Lead and participate in design reviews
- Participate in high level firmware design
- Be involved in several projects, while ensuring that objectives are met and are within budget
- Assess trade-offs between business needs, technology requirements, cost, and risk
- Innovate patentable ideas
Qualifications:
- Master / Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in electrical product design
- Experience in power electronics
- Team work in a global virtual team
- Safety awareness
- Willingness to occasional business travel
