Job Description


We are looking for a Employee Relations Specialist with strong Irish employment law and legislative knowledge, to join our People Team. This role will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of some of our core ER processes and procedures as well as ensuring we drive and continue to cultivate a high performing culture.

Role Responsibilities

  • Forming part of the Performance Management team, this role will deliver an efficient Employee Relations and Performance Management support to the business and the wider People team, through excellent standards of customer first and constructive, supportive, and accurate employment and performance advice.
  • Advising managers and the wider HR team in relation to policy, HR best practice and legislation and managing a portfolio of multiple cases at any one time, which includes the full spectrum of ER-related matters, inclusive of complex employment law challenges.
  • Partnering with managers and People Partners through coaching and mentoring and assessing risk to provide options so that they can make an informed decision by understanding the risk and wider implications of decisions.
  • Supporting the management and wider HR team in the preparation of case documentation.
  • Contributing towards and delivering managerial ER workshops and trainings to broaden understanding of best practice and risk within performance management and employment law.
  • Building and maintaining familiarity with HR legislation and our policies and procedures and driving and implementing policy and process reviews.
  • Effectively using the HR information system and Microsoft Office programs to input and update data, enabling accurate data analytics and trends management, to support the business.
  • Driving Performance Management initiatives and projects to ensure we educate and train our managers on how to handle complex and challenging cases.
  • Keep abreast of developments in employment legislation, EC directives, codes of practice and related matters and maintain a thorough knowledge of HR policies and procedures, employment law and relevant case law in order to understand current requirements and best practice.
  • Partnering closely with the business, driving sickness case management and wider trend analysis.

Partnering and advising the business on complex change management cases and programmes. Including carrying out of effective consultation and redeployment practices, handling contentious and complex issues such as TUPE transfers, acquisitions, and restructures.


Qualifications


Desired Experience and Approach

  • Currently operating as an ER/Performance Management Specialist or an equivalent role, with extensive experience managing complex ER cases.
  • Have an excellent grasp and understanding of Irish employment law and legislation.
  • Ability to take a complex ER case and give effective and pragmatic advice to ensure the right outcome.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to deliver constructive, supportive, and accurate employment advice.
  • Effective influencing and persuasion skills.
  • Organised and able to prioritise workload.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with managers.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development. CIPD Qualification would be beneficial.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail with a flair for data analytics. Having the ability to interpret data, identify trends & patterns, present them to different stakeholders and tailor future approach for each area accordingly (sickness/underperformance/ER).
  • People focused, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills, with a knowledge of IT systems and processes.
  • Ability to deliver high levels of performance and service excellence while managing high volume workload.
