Associate Finance Control [Netherlands]


 

Finance Group Treasury (GT) & Corporate Line (CL) / Business Control & Advice - Central GT is looking for an Financial Accounting Controller with a strong financial background and a desire to work in an ambitious and dynamic finance team with a high level of business expertise and specialist knowledge.

Your Work Environment

Finance GT & CL is overall responsible for the financial management of Treasury, Capital Management and Other Corporate Line activities within ING. Within Finance GT & CL the primary task of the Business Control & Advice - Central GT team is to support GT Management located in the Netherlands in optimizing ING’s balance sheet through:

  • Management information, analysis & advice and business control activities
  • Driving the implementation of innovative, forward looking balance sheet steering information
  • Safeguard a safe and sound control environment for the financials
  • Targeting global standardisation and streamlining of relevant processes, tools and systems

The Business Control & Advice - Central GT team consists of financial control and accounting experts with an in depth knowledge of Group Treasury activities and financial markets instruments. This combined with a broad knowledge of various balance sheet management, IFRS accounting and regulatory accounting topics. We report directly to the CFO GT & CL.

Role & Responsibilities

You are a member of a team of 11 FTE. Your most important tasks are:

  • Financial accounting (balance sheet, P&L) control, including product control, hedge accounting control, challenge of price testing & valuation;
  • Management accounting control, including budget planning, business allocations
  • Regulatory accounting control, including solvency, liquidity
  • Balance Sheet and P&L forecasting, liquidity/solvency forecast, scenario analysis;
  • Support, analysis and business advice on above to main stakeholders
  • Actively support and participate in projects as end-users
  • Understand the Group Treasury portfolios and provide daily support to the GT business located in the Netherlands

Furthermore, you have:

  • Working knowledge of financial accounting (specifically IAS39/IFRS9 and hedge accounting, financial market products (including derivatives), risk management, Basel regulations and relevant (GT) Finance processes and systems
  • You adhere to the ING values and it is evident for you that your behavior is fully aligned with the Orange Code
  • You are seen as a reliable and valuable business partner for both internal and external stakeholders
  • You have the ability to understand the “big picture” while having an eye for detail
  • Good skills in Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills

Education & Experience

  • A Master’s degree, for example in Economics, Econometrics or Business Administration and maximum 5 years of relevant working experience
