At DB Cargo UK, we’re recruiting for a Team Leader to join our Wheels Maintenance Department at Stoke.
As a Team Leader you will be responsible for supporting the production team to achieve a weekly production plan. To achieve this, we are looking for a strong mechanically minded individual with mechanical engineering experience.
COSHH awareness for all materials and substance use in the overhaul and manufacture of wheel sets.
Reporting of all incidents, accidents and near misses within the workplace using the correct channels and systems.
Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Any other requirements deemed necessary to achieve the business objectives.
Adhere to the company accreditations of:
- ISO 45001 Health and safety
- ISO 9001 Quality Standard
- ISO 14001 Environmental standard
- RISAS accreditation for the overhaul and Manufacture of Wheel sets
Ensure all Risk Assessments, COSHH assessments and Standard operating procedures are in date and adhered to.
Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture, setting clear team goals
Delegate tasks and set deadlines
Monitor team performance and report on metrics
Support and carry out relevant training to ensure that you are driving talent development within your team
Mechanical engineering experience
Excellent communication skills
Experience using prevision measuring equipment
Ability to problem solve when dealing with challenging and conflicting demands
You will be a transformational leader, working well with your team and the wider business

The salary for this position is £25,007
This position will involve a rotation of day and night shifts working 36 hours per week over four shifts. When working night shifts, there will be an additional weekly allowance of £93.90.
