Job Description


Role Summary:

*initial 12 month FTC*

Reporting to the Global Talent Development and Inclusion’s (GTDI), Creative Talent and Content team with a dotted line into the Head of Film & TV for Working Title, the Creative Consultant position will manage the day-to-day operations for Universal’s Global Writers Program, a new writing experience from Universal Film Entertainment Group in partnership with Working Title Films.

The Global Writers Program is a first-of-its-kind international writers experience launched in 2022 by GTDI. Partnering with legendary global production and development powerhouse, Working Title Films (Bridget Jones’ Diary, Love Actually, Baby Driver, Emma., Matilda The Musical, The Swimmers), those selected have the chance to create film content for potential production development consideration in partnership with the team at Working Title Films in the UK. The program cultivates storytellers who organically incorporate multicultural and global perspectives in their writing. The experience also provides creative guidance from executives, producers and creative consultants, and broadens their network of industry champions to help shape their development.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Performing day-to-day duties in the coordination and execution of the Global Writers Program which includes, scheduling and managing calendars, the assembly and distribution of curriculum, creating meeting agendas, identifying and executing action items, securing guest speakers (industry partners, creative executives, filmmakers etc...), event management, logistics, evaluation and follow up
  • Create and update on an ongoing basis talent database and tracking systems to include, but not limited to panelists, participants, partners, as well as the experience’s rollout. Maintain proper recordkeeping and filing system for all work for reference
  • Read Global Writers Program scripts and provide feedback and coverage
  • Ability to work with and maintain confidential information
  • Provide support to GTDI and Working Title executives as it pertains to the Global Writers Program
  • Phone coverage as well as all basic administrative duties to support the Global Writers Program
  • Timely preparation and processing of invoices, timecards, etc.
  • Providing prep material to GTDI talent or executives prior to scheduled meetings

Qualifications


Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience within the film or film adjacent industry in a studio, agency, film production company or film adjacent arts organisation
  • Knowledge and familiarity with Universal Filmed Entertainment Group content, especially Working Title Films
  • Knowledge of story structure and the screenwriting craft
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and advanced PowerPoint, as well as Adobe Photoshop and PDFs
